The detailed Goldstone Report is named after former South African judge, Richard Goldstone, a Zionist Jew heading the UN fact-finding mission on the Israeli/Gaza conflict. The 650-page document reviews human rights issues while reporting on Israel's assault (Operation Cast Lead) after Israel unexpectedly broke the ceasefire with Gaza in 2008.

Background

Goldstone states Israel used “disproportionate force” and claims both sides targeted civilians. He requested further investigations regarding possible war crimes, which Hamas, but not Israel, agreed to. The Goldstone report received disproval by those claiming it contained too much criticism of Israel.

Although the report was overwhelmingly defeated in the US House of Representatives (via H. Res. 867) without hearings, discussions, or even refuting its claims, others strongly supported it.
