Come January, we’re all ambition. Like a runner before a race, we rile ourselves up – not with stretches and adrenaline, but with promises. This year, we say, we will hit the gym, eat better, lose weight; learn to play guitar, speak Italian, ride a motorcycle; spend less money and save more; volunteer; break the mold and do something, go somewhere challenging and exciting. Oh, and learn to relax.

Come February, our instruments and textbooks are covered in dust and we’re huddled on the couch in front of the TV, eating ice cream from the carton, overwhelmed, dejected – and more stressed than ever!

This may not be the exact scenario, but most of us know what it’s like to make and break a New Years resolution…or two, or three. Or seven. So what can we do differently to help ensure success in keeping them?
