Swimming Pool Replacement Motors

The filtering system keeps your pool clear of all sorts of things and is also responsible for quite a few other things as well. It may look complicated but the system is logical and straight forward; take the time to understand it. It’s important to keep it in good shape; by doing so ensures years of trouble free running and a stunning pool.

The filtering system consists of:

  • The water level in the pool
  • The return jets
  • The skimmers
  • The valves
  • The motor/pump unit
  • The sand filter
  • The sand filter diverter valve
  • The sump drain
  • Filtration time

The Water Level

Most people don’t pay enough attention to keeping the water in their pool at the correct level; this is where the filtering system starts. The water level is important for two main reasons, the first being that the skimmers work most efficiently inside a very small range; the second is the way in which the return jets react with the pool water.

The water level is best controlled by an automatic top-up valve, this can be fitted into one of the skimmers but the best are fitted in their own housing away from the skimmers for a technical reason. An automatic drain is also available for when it has rained heavily and overfilled the pool; these are not really required as normal cleaning uses the pool water and sorts out the problem for you. If the water level is too low you will risk damaging the motor/pump unit, the pipework and the filter itself.
